Keeping it simple

Love God.
Follow Jesus.
Let the Spirit lead.

Sometimes faith can seem complicated — but it doesn't have to be. Here at Charfield Christian Centre we're doing our best to simply love God, follow Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us.

Statement of Faith Symbol
Everyone welcome

Seriously, every one.

Christians and non-Christians. Seekers and sceptics. The fired-up and the burned-out. Come and hear about Jesus' invitation to an abundant life.

No performance

It's Jesus who changes lives — not us.

There's no concert-style event or great production each Sunday. We simply meet with God, praise his name, learn from his living word and welcome his Holy Spirit among us.

Imperfect people

Worshipping a perfect God.

We're imperfect people in an imperfect world. Our hearts are loving and we're being transformed to become more like Jesus each day. You'll always find a warm welcome here.

"Our vision is to see a growing community of Jesus followers in Charfield who together enjoy delving deeper into the Bible and growing in our relationship with Jesus Christ." David & Sue Frampton

That short sentence is why our Sunday gathering looks more like a conversation over coffee than a performance, why Tuesday mornings are full of toddlers and craft glue, and why our doors are open to the whole village — not just on a Sunday.

What we believe

Statement of Faith

Charfield Christian Centre is a member of the Evangelical Alliance of Great Britain, and we subscribe to their statement of faith.

  • ✦The one true God who lives eternally in three persons — the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • ✦The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.
  • ✦The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God — fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.
  • ✦The dignity of all people, made male and female in God's image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement.
  • ✦The incarnation of God's eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ — born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.
  • ✦The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.
  • ✦The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.
  • ✦The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.
  • ✦The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.
  • ✦The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers — given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit's gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.
  • ✦The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.

From our Pastor

Davina's heart for the Church

A vision for the kind of family we long to become.

"I love God, I follow Jesus, and I'm led by the Holy Spirit. I believe God has called me here for a reason, and my passion is to introduce people to Him — to help others discover His love, His truth, and the life He has planned for them. My vision is to see a strong, wholehearted body of believers — the very Bride of Christ. A family that encourages & uplifts one another, lovingly corrects & challenges one another, and holds each other accountable. A body that welcomes everyone, no matter where they've come from, and what they've done. A body that delights in walking on God's narrow way. I long to see leaders raised up, disciples continually growing, and lives transformed more and more into the likeness of Christ. A people who forgive quickly, repent swiftly, love deeply, and recognise that we are so much stronger together than we are apart. I'm a Pastor with a servant's heart. I don't always know exactly what the journey will look like, but I know exactly where I'm going — wherever God sends me. So, let's follow God together, encourage one another, and walk faithfully — becoming the people and the body He has called us to be." Davina — Pastor at Charfield Christian Centre
