The people behind the centre

Meet our team.

Charfield Christian Centre is a church plant from several churches in the area — Cromhall Chapel, Wotton Baptist, and Kingswood Congregational. Today, David and Sue Frampton and Davina lead a growing community of Jesus followers who meet over coffee, explore the Bible together, and welcome the whole village.

How we got here

David and Sue have lived in Charfield since 2014. Before that, they served as missionaries with WEC International in Africa and the Middle East. When the Congregational Church closed during COVID and did not reopen, David enquired with the Congregational Federation for permission to reopen the building — and in September 2023, Charfield Christian Centre opened its doors once again.

Since then, a growing number of us have met at 10:30am every Sunday for tea or coffee around tables, exploring the Bible together with a desire to make church meaningful for our times.

Our vision is to see a growing community of Jesus followers in Charfield who together enjoy delving deeper into the Bible and growing in our relationship with Jesus Christ.

Meet our team

The people you'll meet

Ordinary people with an extraordinary love for Jesus — and for Charfield.

David Frampton

Evangelist

I had a life-changing experience of meeting Jesus in Afghanistan when I was 19 and ever since I have devoted my life to sharing Jesus with others. Sue and I met and married in India and we've been happily married for 51 years. Together we've raised a lovely family.

I am trained as an agricultural engineer and we have been involved in Christian mission together in India, Africa and the Middle East for most of our married life. I have a passion to share the Bible with people. We moved to Charfield in 2014, and when the Congregational Church remained closed after COVID, we applied to re-open it which we did in September 2023.

Our vision is to see a growing community of Jesus-followers who are discovering the exciting truths of all that God has promised every one of us through meeting and knowing Jesus. I enjoy caravanning, hiking, swimming in the Cromhall quarry and spending time with family and friends.

Sue Frampton

Evangelist

I have been married to David for 51 years and we have four sons and 10 lovely grandchildren. With David, I served as a missionary with WEC International for 30 years, ten of them in Ghana and later in the Middle East.

We have lived in Charfield since 2014 and love it! I enjoy being with family, cross stitch, jigsaws, gardening, being a prison visitor at Eastwood Park and baking for all the events at CCC. My role is running Sunshine Tots and teaching the children during the service and I love both.

Davina

Pastor

I'm Davina. I love God, I follow Jesus, and I'm led by the Holy Spirit. I believe God has called me here for a reason, and my passion is to introduce people to Him — to help others discover His love, His truth, and the life He has planned for them.

My vision is to see a strong, wholehearted body of believers — the very Bride of Christ. A family that encourages and uplifts one another, lovingly corrects and challenges one another, and holds each other accountable. A body that welcomes everyone, no matter where they've come from, and what they've done. A body that delights in walking on God's narrow way.

I came to Charfield in September 2025 from Spain, where God had dramatically called me back to Himself in 2019. I attended Bible School there, was ordained as a minister and served as an Associate Pastor. I was previously a Headteacher, and I'm also qualified in counselling and psychotherapy. Originally from Manchester, I have 3 fabulous children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren — and I love to travel.

I long to see leaders raised up, disciples continually growing, and lives transformed more and more into the likeness of Christ. A people who forgive quickly, repent swiftly, love deeply, and recognise that we are so much stronger together than we are apart.

I'm a Pastor with a servant's heart. I don't always know exactly what the journey will look like, but I know exactly where I'm going — wherever God sends me. So, let's follow God together, encourage one another, and walk faithfully — becoming the people and the body He has called us to be.

God wants you. We want you. Whatever you've done, whatever life has thrown at you, you're here now reading this. This is your sign. You are loved unconditionally. God has a plan & a purpose for you, and it's so much bigger than you think.
